From the Members, Partners, Associates, Paralegals and Staff of
Sahn Ward Braff Koblenz Coschignano.

We record with sorrow the passing of our esteemed and respected former Special Counsel, the Honorable Edward G. McCabe. We extend our sympathies to the Judge’s family and friends, and his many former colleagues in government and the New York State Court System.

We honor and pay tribute to his remarkable and distinguished record of public service as an Assistant District Attorney for Nassau County, Town Attorney for the Town of North Hempstead, Nassau County Attorney, Justice of the Supreme Court of the State of New York for the County of Nassau, Administrative Judge of the Nassau County Courts, and Presiding Justice of the Appellate Term of the New York State Supreme Court for the Second Judicial Department.

Judge McCabe was a selfless public servant. He was devoted to the law and the legal profession. The Judge was renowned for the innovative programs he initiated in the Court system to benefit the public, the judiciary and the Bar, including programs for health screenings and aid for those in need of legal services.

The Judge also served as the Director of the Paralegal Studies Certificate Program at Hofstra University which became a fully accredited program by the American Bar Association under his guidance.

Judge McCabe received numerous awards and citations for his accomplishments. Yet, nothing made the Judge prouder than serving as a mentor to attorneys, administrative assistants, and staff of the courts, and in the Town and County offices he led. Many of those he mentored went on to their own careers of accomplishment and service.

As our Special Counsel, the Judge devoted his time and expertise to mentoring our attorneys, while always providing insight and advice to benefit our clients. We relied on his knowledge, advocacy, and counsel in many complex cases. From the time the Judge joined our Firm in 2009, he helped to lay the foundation for our continued growth and the expansion of our Firm.

All of us at Sahn Ward are grateful for his wise counsel and his great sense of humor. He leaves us with an enduring legacy of service, excellence, leadership, and accomplishment.
