Elisabetta T. Coschignano

Elisabetta T. Coschignano is a Member of the Firm and a practicing lawyer for over 25 years. Ms. Coschignano started her career with several prominent Long Island firms prior to starting her own practice in 2004. She then worked as Principal Law Clerk to several Justices in Nassau County Supreme Court in both the Civil and Commercial Division, immediately prior to joining the Firm in 2020. Elisabetta is the first female to be named Member of the Firm and prioritizes mentoring the Associates.

Ms. Coschignano concentrates her practice in the areas of Zoning and Land Use lanning, Municipal Law, Commercial and Residential Real Estate transactions, and Estate Planning. Throughout her years in private practice, Ms. Coschignano has handled all types of commercial and residential land use applications before all local municipal entities. She has received approvals for projects ranging from single-family dwellings to multi-family dwellings; mixed-use projects; assisted living communities; fast food restaurants; commercial and retail establishments and in many cases obtaining Industrial Development Agency benefits.

Ms. Coschignano also represents various municipal boards. From 2010 to 2016, Ms. Coschignano served as Counsel to the Town of Oyster Bay Zoning Board of Appeals and she currently serves as Chairperson of the Zoning Board of Appeals for the Village of Muttontown and Counsel to the Village of Island Park Board of Zoning Appeals.

Throughout her career she has also handled complex commercial and personal injury litigation, matrimonial litigation, residential and commercial real estate transactions; trademark applications and registrations with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Ms. Coschignano also has relationships with law firms that are based in Italy which refer clients to her based upon her experience and fluency in Italian.

Ms. Coschignano is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association, Co-Chair of the Nassau County Bar Association’s Municipal Law and Land Use Committee, the Nassau County Women’s Bar Association, the Nassau County Catholic Lawyers’ Guild and a member of the Columbian Lawyers’ Association.

Ms. Coschignano has been awarded the Long Island Herald “Top Lawyers” Award 2021; Long Island Business News Award “Top 50 Women in Business”; Long Island Business News “Leadership In Law” Award for 2022 and Schneps Media “Power Women 30” Award for 2024 and has also been selected to New York Metro Super Lawyers lists.

Over the years, Ms. Coschignano has also volunteered her time to the Boys and Girls Club of Oyster Bay East Norwich, the Pride in Athletics for Life Ice Hockey organization and St. Edward the Confessor Church and School. Ms. Coschignano was also a member of the St. Edward the Confessor School Board and served as a past School Board President.

Ms. Coschignano is admitted to practice law in the State of New York. She received her undergraduate degree from Hofstra University (B.B.A.) and her law degree from Hofstra University School of Law (J.D.)
