John Christopher and Colleagues Raise Over $7,000 in the Help A Veteran 24-Hour Giving Challenge

John Christopher, a Partner with the Firm, participated in The Young Lawyer Friends of The Foundation and the Young Lawyers Section of The New York State Bar Association's NY Lawyers Help A Veteran 24-Hour Giving Challenge on November 10, 2016. Mr. Christopher and his colleagues helped plan and coordinate the event and their efforts raised $7,360 to assist veterans in need of legal services. Mr. Christopher serves as the Chair Elect of the NYSBA Young Lawyers Section.

When asked about the Help A Veteran 24-Hour Giving Challenge, Mr. Christopher stated, "I am so happy that we were able to accomplish and exceed our goal with this event. My inspiration for this event was my grandfather, Paul L. Christopher, who left high school at age 16 to go fight in World War II in the United States Army. He was honorably discharged and received the Purple Heart after being injured by a piece of shrapnel. My grandfather passed away many years ago, but I have always kept his memory with me."

"I also have many friends who have served in various branches of the military and I have the utmost respect for them and for all of our service men and women," Mr. Christopher added. "I feel truly honored that we were able to raise funds that will assist The New York Bar Foundation in providing grants for legal services to our veterans. After all our veterans have done for us, this is the very least we could do for them this Veterans Day."
